Our wood dust and shavings are collected by our state-of-the-art dust collection system into trailers that are hauled away each week. The wood dust and shavings are then re-purposed into animal bedding and or fuel for electric co-generation plants. This renewable resource plays a significant contribution to meeting regional energy demands.
During the colder months, we burn a percentage of our wood waste in our state of the art boiler system. This system provides heat for our entire manufacturing facility and offices, allowing us to reduce our use of fossil fuels to near zero.
Our finishing department employs technology allowing us to minimize the amount of waste created by our finishing processes. Along with low VOC finishing products, we use spray gun technology that allows us the highest rate of finish transfer to product possible, thus minimizing the amount of waste and or emissions produced. All finishes and solvents are recycled; any residual material that is deemed unusable is responsibly disposed of through a certified and licensed third-party vendor.
